SUSTAINABILITY
Siemtecha operates according to the voluntary SA8000 standard for social compliance, which sets out requirements for ethical employment practices based on International Labour Organization, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, UN conventions, and international agreements. According to the SA8000 standard, the company adheres to the following principles of ethical employment:
- Doesn‘t use child and teenage labor;
- Forced labor, physical and psychological abuse;
- Ensures a safe and healthy workplace environment for workers;
- Allows workers the right to form, join trade union(s) of their choice and bargain collectively on their behalf with the organisation;
- Protects workers from discrimination based on race, origin, caste, gender, religion, political affiliation and many other attributes;
- Treats staff with dignity and respect, also practices objective discipline (clear rules and regulations at work);
- Complies with applicable laws and industry standards on working hours, breaks and public holidays, ensures the normal work week does not exceed 48 hours;
- Pays remunerations for the work performed correctly and without violating the law;
- Apply appropriate Management System to achieve full and sustained compliance with SA8000, while continually improving social performance.
Siemtecha also complies with environmental protection requirements (SA 8000:2014) by optimizing the energy resources used, maintaining ISO legal acts and other regulatory obligations, requiring our suppliers (subcontractors) to adhere to the principles of social responsibility.
